Job Summary
The Area Site Director is accountable to assist the Division Director of Behavioral Health Services in providing the clinical, fiscal and administrative oversight for each Site’s provision of behavioral health and social services to children, adolescents, individuals and families in a variety of office, outreach, and community based settings. The position drives program development, implementation and enhancement of service delivery, promotes community visibility of program services through networking and marketing opportunities, and ensures budgetary and regulatory compliance for all programs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical
- Responsible for clinical care of individuals and families in the program with varying developmental stages, inclusive of all ethnic backgrounds, religions, sexual orientation, genders, and ages
- Ensures youth and family voice and choice is implemented in service delivery
- Ensure compliance with agency-wide Human Rights and Responsibilities for staff and individuals and families served
- Assures that the clinical perspective is included in decisions and that staff are actively involved in decisions that affect their practice
Client Safety and Quality
- Collaborates with staff to maintain safety for clients and staff, oversees quality of clinical systems, processes, policies and procedures, and optimizes organizational performance in regard to quality measures.
- Supports a positive reporting environment and promotes the reporting of unsafe practices, while fostering a positive work culture
Fiscal Accountability
- Develops annual budgets in conjunction with supervisors and CFO
- Ensure that budgets are on target and fiscal goals are being met— achieve revenue targets; actual vs. budgeted must be the same or better
Community and Vendor Relationships
- Promote community visibility of program services through networking and marketing opportunities
- Develop community relationships with external providers and State systems.
- Maintain community committee memberships, such as with DCF Area Boards, Coalitions, etc.
Administrative and Programmatic
- Assure all program systems are operating effectively and all contractual and regulatory requirements as stipulated in any contract or state or federal regulations are met
- Provide oversight and monitoring of physical plant upkeep, maintenance, and aesthetics for the site
Staff/ Human Resources/ Professional Development
- Supports the organizational structure for client care services. Interviews, selects, hires, orients and trains direct reports, interns and volunteers. Collaborates with Human Resources in directing other members of the team in these functions
- Participates in the development and implementation of programs and processes for recognizing expertise, competency and performance of staff
- Communicates a shared vision for quality service. Rewards appropriate behaviors; confronts and manages inappropriate behaviors. Creates an environment which recognizes and values differences in staff, clients and communities
- Teaches and mentors others to routinely utilize evidence-based data and research. Utilizes research findings for the establishment of standards, practices, and client care models in the organization and allocate nursing resources based on the measurement of client acuity/care needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Master degree in a mental health discipline required
- Minimum of five years post graduate with management and supervisory experience providing therapeutic treatment services is required
- Must have had clinical independent license for at least three years
- Must have experience working with a broad range of populations in a clinical environment and be experienced in working with managed care
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation to and from many meetings, sites and appointments
- Must have access to personal cell phone
- Must be independently licensed – LMHC, LMFT, LICSW or Doctoral Licensure (licensed PsyD, PhD) and maintain licensure throughout employment
- Must become First Aid/ CPR certified if not currently certified
