COVID-19 Updates

We have been closely monitoring the situation and following all advice from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are following our Communicable Disease Policy and all staff are briefed on the most updated guidance to help prevent the spread of germs at all of our sites and to provide you with the most comprehensive care in a safe and accessible way.

As this is a fast moving crisis with information changing every moment, we will be updating this information daily and/or when new recommendations, practices and procedures change.

Is Family Continuity Open?
Yes. During this uncertain time, we intend to remain open to support you and your family and will work with you to coordinate care that addresses your specific needs and adjusts to changing schedules. This is an anxious time for both children and adults and we want to make sure you are taking care of your health and well-being.

What If I'm Sick?
Anyone with flu-like symptoms (a cough/high temperature/shortness of breath) should contact Family Continuity to inform us and reschedule your appointment. Please do not attend the clinic or allow for home visits until given the clearance to do so by health professionals. Additionally, anyone having traveled to or from a high level transmission area, or who have come into contact with anyone who has COVID, will not be seen by Family Continuity for a period of 14 days after their return or with approval from their doctor.

What If I Am Not Able to Make It Into the Clinic for My Appointment?
All of our sites have tele-health capabilities at this time. If you are unable to make it into our clinic, please contact your provider to schedule a remote session.

Can I Come Into the Clinic?
We realize that for some people, it is important to come into our clinic site for treatment. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for all our clients. Our clinic sites are being disinfected every 2 hours and we are screening individuals prior to their arrival for possible symptoms and exposure.

What is the State of the Pandemic Today?

While COVID-19 is the focus of community's public health efforts, other serious illnesses like the flu are still prevalent in the state. Find more information on the flu and where to get a flu vaccine here: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/what-should-i-know-about-flu

These simple precautions will help prevent the spread of the flu and other respiratory illnesses:
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, using a tissue or the inside of your elbow
  • Put used tissues in the trash bin right away
  • Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water frequently and use hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • If you have a fever or feel sick, stay home and call your healthcare provider
  • Get the flu vaccine – it is not too late!
